Private Home & Personal Care is Hiring a PCA/Caregiver Near Leominster, MA

Our family is seeking a fun, compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential care and support to a special needs 10 year old girl. The ideal candidate will enjoy being around children and doing activities such as reading books, painting, coloring, singing, dancing, crafts etc. Experience is not manadatory willing to train the right person. This could be a great opportunity for someone looking for a career in working with children with special needs. You will learn so much about communicating and engaging a child with an intellectual disability who does not talk or walk.

Duties:

- Assist clients with activities of daily living, feeding, diaper changes and transfers to and from various equipment such as a stander, walker, activity chair and wheelchair.
- Provide companionship and fun engagement.
- Set up G-tube for water bolus and occasionally administer a medication in case of emergency.
- Support with developmental disabilities in daily tasks and activities
- Implement behavior management techniques when necessary
- Ensure her safety and well-being at all times
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided

Qualifications:
- Caregiving experience is essential for this role
- Knowledge of first aid, cleaning, driving, childcare, HIPAA regulations, heavy lifting
- Ability to environment and work effectively with individual in need of care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patient and their families
- Physical stamina and emotional resilience to handle the demands of the caregiving role
- Certification in relevant areas such as CPR, First Aid is a plus
